If you've been following along with HereNowYoga's adventures over the past years, you know that "Yoga on the Mountain" started five years ago. The series of events are a partnership between HereNowYoga's lead teacher, Kim Drye, and Southern Appalachian Highland Conservancy of Asheville, NC. Each event has been a hike to a bald with a fantastic view and then about an hour of yoga to allow the participants to really steep in the sense of being truly present in the beautiful surroundings. The yoga + hiking adventures are free for members of SAHC and $10 for non-members. All proceeds go to the SAHC organization.
Last weekend was the October 2014 "Yoga on the Mountain" hike and it was a special treat due to Kim's recent relocation to Birmingham, AL. It was refreshing for Kim to be home during the most beautiful time of year for the Blue Ridge mountains and turned out to be perfect weather and a weekend full of family and friends. Take a moment to look at the gallery of photos and stay tuned for news of the next event, most likely in the Spring. Kim plans to continue this series of events with SAHC despite her move.
